The magic of spiritual baths

Spiritual baths have been part of my life for a few years now.

Deeply relaxing, deliciously relieving, this self-care moment is for me a treat I will have trouble giving up on now.

Before diving into the subject of this article, I wanted to share a bit more about my relationship with bathtubs.

As a child, taking baths were distressing moments for me.

I remember the horror of seeing my body naked for too long. It was painful, threatening, cause of deep anxiety.

When I arrived in Scotland, I moved into a house with a bathtub, and was baby stepping on my witchy path.

I decided to give it a go.

Disclaimer, I stayed in my bath two minutes, bored with the prospect of staying still, but also horrified to have my body laying in front of me.

Small bit by small bit, I persisted, slowly started to enjoy it.

It has been one of the deepest, stronger opportunity to heal my relationships with my flesh temple, but also with my mind. In a bathtub, there are no games, no hide and seek, the truth comes out raw and organic, and you have to deal with it.

Spiritual baths helped me to create more joyful, playful experiences and helped me so much in this process.

What is a spiritual bath?

It is not your usual bath, not the one you take when you are tired after a long day. A spiritual bath is full of energy, intentions, and magic. External elements, such as flowers, crystals, candles are brought to the bathroom to create a specific atmosphere, support a special intention and energy. This is a unique moment built upon your creativity.

The goal here is not only to cleanse your body, but also your mind and soul.

How to create a spiritual bath?

1) Start by connecting with your intention. What energy do you wish to infuse ?

2) Gather elements supporting your intention (Coloured candles, crystals, herbs, bath bombs…) and place them all around your bath, or in it. Repeat consciously your intention while doing so.

DISCLAIMER Before throwing herbs, oils in your bath, ALWAYS make your own research about them. Essential oils are powerful concentrates and can be dangerous if not used properly. Herbs can cause allergic reactions and are not suitable for certain conditions or pregnant women.

3) Visualize your intention filling your bathtub as the water pours.

4) Enter the bathtub with your intention in mind, imagine your body completely immersed in this energy.

5) Allow yourself to soak for a while. Play some music, meditate… Let go for a moment and enjoy a deep, relaxing moment.

6) Whenever you are done, thank all elements which have been working with you during this ritual.

Love bath Idea

I experimented, played with this soft, easy combination for many years now.

What I like the most is really to play with music, add different crystals or herbs each time and most of all, relax in the water and notice how I feel.

  • Prepare yourself a rose petal tea, drink it very consciously, visualize love filling your entire body. You can imagine a beautiful green or rose colour going down to your throat after each sip, stretching out in your cells.

  • Gather rose quartz, white or pink candles, rose incense and petals. You can also add a few spoons of coconut oil, milk or honey to make your bath even more creamy.

  • Open the water tap, place all your elements around or in the bath while reciting the following affirmation :

Love surrounds me, love is within me. I am its vessel for infinity.

  • When the water is ready to welcome you, play some loving music (You can find many hertz frequency music on YouTube) and dive into your bath like the god, goddess that you are. Allow yourself to soak for a while, just relaxing, regenerating in this love container. You can also play a self-love, attracting love, self-care meditation if you feel it could enhance your intention and magnify your ritual.

  • Whenever you are done, thank all elements which have been working with you, and gently, lovingly dry yourself with a warm towel.

  • You can finish this ritual by massaging yourself with warm coconut oil, that will add an extra nurturing aspect to the bath.

DISCLAIMER Before throwing herbs, oils in your bath, ALWAYS make your own research about them. Essential oils are powerful concentrates and can be dangerous if not used properly. Herbs can cause allergic reactions and are not suitable for certain conditions or pregnant women.

I hope this article will have inspired you to create a unique ritual for yourself and for your well-being.

Do not hesitate to share your own combinations in the comment or by e-mail.
